Our Maternity Photos

Adam and I met a local photographer (thanks, Mangiante Photography!) down at Natural Bridges State Beach a few weeks ago to have some maternity photos taken. Honestly, I wasn't sure if this was something I wanted to do; I seriously went back and forth on it for a month or so. It's funny because I'm a photographer and often take maternity photos for other people, but the thought of having them done for myself felt strange. Being in front of the camera can feel so awkward, haha. Obviously, I'm glad we decided to do it because I love the photos and know they'll be something we can look back on and cherish forever. 💖

As of today, I am 38 weeks and 5 days, which is actually when my sister-in-law went into labor! It seems like 10 days is the magic number because I know a handful of other people who also went into labor 10 days early. I'm not sure what to think... I haven't had any Braxton Hicks contractions throughout my entire pregnancy, and everyone I've talked to who went into labor early said they at least experienced a handful of those.

For the longest time, my gut has been saying September 23rd, and sometimes you just have to trust your gut! But now that the 23rd is only a few days away, I'm thinking that is less and less likely since I haven't had any of those BH contractions. My doctor said she will let me go 41 weeks and 3 days, but if there's still nothing happening by then, they will induce me. So if that's the case, we know the baby will be here by at least October 9th!

A friend of mine is thinking October 3rd will be the day (which just so happens to be Mean Girls day, haha), and my mother-in-law thinks October 1st. This time of year is actually a great time to have a baby because nobody in either of our families has a late September or early October birthday. We'll just have to wait and see... I'll keep you posted!!

As always, thanks for reading. xo
