My Mandarin Learning Journey
I've talked about this on my blog a few times before, but two years ago, I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Cultural Studies from a university here in Seattle.

Somehow it's been almost a year since my China trip. It really doesn't feel like it was that long ago... Except when I try to speak Mandarin of course and realize how much it's been slipping away from my memory since I never ever use the language anymore. Then it feels like China was forever ago.

No matter how many times I promised myself I'd make it to Jinli Street in the daytime, it just never happened. Every time I visited, it was just before sunset, and Chengdu after dark is a scary place...
