Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan, China
Somehow it's been almost a year since my China trip. It really doesn't feel like it was that long ago... Except when I try to speak Mandarin of course and realize how much it's been slipping away from my memory since I never ever use the language anymore. Then it feels like China was forever ago.
Jiuzhaigou National Park
If the name of this park sounds familiar to you, it might be because it was in the news recently. A devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Jiuzhaigou area just weeks after I visited the park. On August 8th, at least 20 people were killed, and over 430 were injured in the earthquake.
